Future Tattoo

If I ever decide to get a tattoo, I know the following quote will somehow be involved:

“I myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions.”

My favorite author, Augusten Burroughs, wrote it in his book Magical Thinking: True Stories. I think it describes me perfectly. I think it describes most people perfectly.

The words will be flowing out of an open book along with images that symbolize important people and places in my life. I have my perfect tattoo all planned out. I just have to decide if I really want to mark my body or not. Some days I'm all in. Most days I'm fine with never getting a tattoo ever.

  1. I highly, highly doubt that I would ever get a tattoo. 1)pain, 2)I like my skin the way it is....but that also doesn't stop me from thinking what kind of tattoo I would get if I had to get one. And I've told Angel that if he ever gets a tattoo it has to be " Rachel's " because I'm an evil wife....

  3. Be careful with word tattoos, as it's difficult to fix then if/when the tattooist spells them wrong. And you don't want to have a picture floating around the internet :/

  4. That is a beautiful header you got there miss thang. I am far to scared of needles to EVER mark on my body. But that is besides the point. I love this quote. Girl, I am letting you know now that I am stealing it and will have to check out said author. I'm seriously stuck on this quite now.

  5. Love this quote! It is one of my favorites. I am a lover of quotes so I have many favorites though :)

I have on tattoo... it's on my right foot. It is very significant with much meaning to me. It wasn't very painful and only took 20 minutes :) Where would you get yours?

  6. What a pretty quote and SO true! And I am so in the same boat about getting a tattoo. I want one, because they can be so pretty, but it's there for life!

  7. Love the quote, and agree it's very true to all of us. I would be one to encourage you NOT to get a tattoo. I blogged about it some time back, the troubles presented when people need IV's, blood transfusions etc. I fear we're creating a whole generation of people who will suffer far more then what people think when they see their tats, as they age and need hospital care. Most states don't even require a tattoo parlor to be licensed by the health department. There's some food for thought.
